Teen Clay is an 4-week after school program from 4pm-5pm for 11yo-17yo where we focus on wheel throwing. This class is taught by Brianna.

In this course your bigger kiddos will get to learn about the nature of clay on the electric pottery wheels. This will be a skill building course focused on functional works in ceramics. Items created in this course will include mugs, plates, bowls, vases, sets, planters, and so much more. 

If they have taken ceramics before we will build off of those Handbuilding skills to add additional creative features to wheel thrown works, combining Handbuilding and wheel thrown pieces.

These kiddos will be encouraged to join us in selling their art and how to turn something they love into something that can help bring them additional income as adults. We will host a teen show twice a year where they will get to show off and sell the works that they chose. We will also do constructive critiques to build skills and confidence within these young makers. 

This is primarily an art class with a little bit of business mixed in, this will help prepare them for college level classrooms and understanding more of the real world requirements of artists, while still maximizing the joy and peace that pottery brings the makers.
